Our client are looking to hire a Senior Manufacturing Engineer as they expand their manufacturing in Galway. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will join their team and help optimize and advance their manufacturing processes. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a rapidly evolving field.


Role Overview:

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you'll work closely with engineering and production teams to enhance manufacturing processes, improve product quality, and help meet project goals. Your expertise will guide the application of Lean principles and other process improvements that contribute to the success of manufacturing operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with engineering and production teams to improve and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and implement systems and strategies to meet cost, quality, and time goals.
  • Identify and apply Lean methodologies to improve efficiency in manufacturing processes.
  • Solve problems related to processes, materials, and equipment using structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Develop and maintain procedures to ensure industry best practices and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Analyze processes, recommend improvements, and implement solutions to increase productivity.
  • Lead experiments and testing to validate and qualify manufacturing processes, and report on findings.
  • Address complex manufacturing and compliance issues (e.g., CAPA, non-conformances, audits).
  • Create training materials and work instructions to support production teams and ensure smooth knowledge transfer.
  • Collaborate with the internal team to explore new technologies, evaluating their performance, cost, and reliability.

Skills & Experience:

  • A degree in Engineering or a related field (Level 8) with 5+ years of relevant experience. Additional qualifications are a bonus.
  • Green Belt certification is a plus.
  • Experience in medical device manufacturing, including project management, risk analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of design verification, process validation, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to work proactively in cross-functional teams.
  • Organized, proactive, and able to take ownership of tasks and projects.
  • Solid understanding of Lean principles and methodologies (e.g., DMAIC, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).
  • Familiar with ISO 13485 and FDA regulations.
  • Experience with statistical techniques like DOE and Six Sigma.
  • Proficient in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
