Quality Engineer - Manufacturing

We are working with our Galway based client as they look to expand their team and hire a permanent Quality Manufacturing Engineer. You will be responsible for ensuring product quality on the production floor, collaborating with the team, and maintaining clear communication.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily walkarounds to check product quality, documentation, and gauging.

  • Assist operators in machine setup.

  • Ensure Quality of First Off and meet cycle time targets.

  • Ensure documentation (e.g., SOPs, Work Orders, Tooling Setup Sheets) is accurate and completed promptly.

  • Adhere to QMS requirements.

  • Maintain and communicate quality standards.

  • Train others in quality requirements.

  • Support problem-solving through A3 meetings and collaborate with Engineering and Quality.

  • Make informed decisions on the production floor.

  • Ensure product quality while optimizing productivity.

  • Work with Cell Leads/Engineering Manager to improve tooling and processes.

  • Foster a lean mindset to maximize efficiency and performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a machining environment, preferably in medical device manufacturing.

  • Degree or Higher Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of statistics, measurement system analysis, and process capability studies.

  • Strong analytical skills and proven problem-solving ability.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Teams).

  • ISO9000, ISO13485 experience is a plus.

  • Experience with new product introduction and process transfers is advantageous.

  • Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail.

  • Continuous improvement and innovation mindset.
