We are working with our Galway based client as they look to expand their team and hire a permanent Quality Manufacturing Engineer. You will be responsible for ensuring product quality on the production floor, collaborating with the team, and maintaining clear communication.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily walkarounds to check product quality, documentation, and gauging.
- Assist operators in machine setup.
- Ensure Quality of First Off and meet cycle time targets.
- Ensure documentation (e.g., SOPs, Work Orders, Tooling Setup Sheets) is accurate and completed promptly.
- Adhere to QMS requirements.
- Maintain and communicate quality standards.
- Train others in quality requirements.
- Support problem-solving through A3 meetings and collaborate with Engineering and Quality.
- Make informed decisions on the production floor.
- Ensure product quality while optimizing productivity.
- Work with Cell Leads/Engineering Manager to improve tooling and processes.
- Foster a lean mindset to maximize efficiency and performance.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a machining environment, preferably in medical device manufacturing.
- Degree or Higher Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of statistics, measurement system analysis, and process capability studies.
- Strong analytical skills and proven problem-solving ability.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Teams).
- ISO9000, ISO13485 experience is a plus.
- Experience with new product introduction and process transfers is advantageous.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail.
