Manager of Operations

Excellent opportunity for an Operations Manager to join a Biologics Leader in the northwest of Ireland. Reporting to the Site Director, the Operations Manager will lead the manufacturing site in Ireland, ensuring compliance with GMP and regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership and expertise in biopharmaceutical production, quality control, and operational efficiency.

  • Ensure all manufacturing activities follow EHS regulations.
  • Work with EHS to cultivate a safety-focused culture and continuous safety improvements.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow the manufacturing team, encouraging excellence and ongoing improvement.
  • Develop strategies to meet production goals, quality standards, and cost efficiency, while preparing for potential escalations.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, regulatory, and company standards.
  • Manage daily operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and resolving production issues.
  • Quickly address immediate concerns, generate solutions, and involve stakeholders as needed.
  • Collaborate with TSA to improve production processes for better yield, efficiency, and quality.
  • Identify and lead initiatives for process improvement to boost operational efficiency.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required for the Role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Science or equivalent; extensive industry experience may substitute.
  • 10+ years in a similar role, ideally in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, with 5+ years in a managerial position, preferably on a Site Lead Team.
  • Proven experience managing GMP-compliant operations.
  • Familiar with regulatory and client inspections and audits.
  • Strong background in operational excellence and process improvement.
