Join us as Senior Manager, Energy Engineering, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and driving our energy engineering strategy. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will mentor a talented team, and will also play a crucial part in overseeing energy projects and driving best practice in energy efficient design across a range of project types for both retrofit and new investments. 

The Senior Manager Energy Engineering will be responsible for implementation of our clients energy engineering strategy. You will provide leadership to an Engineering Team and will be involved in the implementation of energy efficiency measures, sustainable practices, and performance enhancements with client companies.

This role requires an exceptional blend of people leadership, technical expertise, project management skills, and a passion for sustainability.


Key Responsibilities (full job description on request)

  • Manage, develop and build the capabilities in our teams of talented engineers; play a key role in the recruitment of talent as we grow the team.
  • Play a key role on the leadership team, development of strategy and engagement with the Board.
  • Provide oversight to engineers, and conduct energy audits and assessments of buildings and sites to identify energy-saving opportunities, areas for improvement, and potential upgrades.
  • Support the team to develop and implement energy efficiency strategies, initiatives, and action plans tailored to each property's unique requirements. Periodically, work directly with clients on the delivery of actions plans.
  • Lead the collaboration of engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate energy-efficient designs and systems into building renovation projects.
  • Provide oversight and guidance on the monitoring and analysis of energy consumption data, support staff to identify trends and anomalies, and review their proposals for corrective actions.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and geothermal for integration into clients properties, including financial and environmental considerations.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on energy consumption, savings achieved, and progress toward sustainability targets to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with local authorities and certification bodies to obtain energy efficiency certifications and compliance approvals for properties.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience (9+ years) in energy engineering, energy management, or a similar role, preferably within a property management or real estate environment.
  • Experienced people leader who thrives on coaching and supporting individuals to grow their careers.
  • In-depth knowledge of energy-efficient technologies, HVAC systems, lighting systems, building automation, and renewable energy solutions.
  • Familiarity with relevant energy regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Proficiency in energy modelling software, data analysis tools, and MS Office Suite.
  • Project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhere to deadlines, and allocate resources effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Certification as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or similar credentials is a plus.
  • Full clean drivers license.
