Our client, a leading energy and lighting engineering company is seeking to recruit an Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality Manager to join their team in Claremorris, Co. Mayo on a permanent contract.
As an EHS Manager, you will be responsible for (full job description available on request):
- Formulating and executing health and safety strategies that align with organisational goals and legal requirements.
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety policies and programs that align with legal requirements and industry best practices.
- Providing Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality advice to management and staff responsible for EHS&Q across all of the client's offices/sites nationwide.
- Identifying potential workplace hazards through audits and assessments, developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, and investigating accidents and near-misses to analyze root causes and develop corrective actions that prevent a recurrence.
- Managing and controlling of Quality Management system as per ISO9001, the Environmental Management System as per ISO14001, and the Occupational Health and Safety Management System as per ISO15001 accreditations.
- Leading and developing the EHS&Q team while driving performance excellence across the business, collaborating closely with management, employees, and external agencies to foster a strong culture of safety and health.
- Maintaining and assessing sub-contractor insurances, safety statements and method statements.
- Collaborating with senior management, regulatory agencies, and employees to foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in a similar position.
- Professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) are strongly preferred.
- Experience in the Construction industry would be an advantage.
- People Management Experience with the ability to guide a mentor a team.
