We are partnering with Abbott, a global leader in the medical device industry, to find a talented Process Project Engineer for their Cavan facility. This is an initial 12-month contract with the potential for extension or transition into a permanent role, offering an exciting opportunity to work on critical projects in a cutting-edge manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities:

As a Process Project Engineer, you will be required to:

  • Manage and execute assigned projects within the Process Department, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.

  • Design, install, commission, and validate new equipment while improving existing process units and systems.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with Abbott’s safety, quality, and efficiency standards.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Engineering, QA, HR, etc.) to ensure smooth project implementation and alignment with operational goals.

  • Prepare and review engineering designs, project schedules, budgets, and validation documentation.

  • Identify and implement cost improvement projects (CIPs) to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Provide regular project updates to the Process Project Manager, including key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in mechanical and electrical systems, offering expert guidance to the team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).

  • At least 3 years of engineering experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or food/dairy manufacturing sectors.

  • Proven experience with process engineering, equipment installation, and project management.

  • Strong understanding of automation systems (PLC, SCADA) and design software (AutoCAD, Microsoft Project).

  • Demonstrated expertise in continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, FMEA, RCA) and excellent problem-solving skills.
