Are you a skilled Process Engineer with a passion for optimising injection moulding processes? Join a leading manufacturing company in Leitrim and play a crucial role in driving quality and efficiency. We are seeking a talented Injection Moulding Process Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to our continued success.

About the Role:

Reporting directly to the Moulding Production Manager, you will be the driving force behind the control and management of all process-driven systems within our state-of-the-art Injection Moulding department. You will leverage your expertise in process optimisation, troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure seamless production and exceptional product outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Tooling & Process Validation: Lead the debug, setup, and validation of new injection moulding tools, ensuring optimal performance from the outset.
  • Process Optimisation & DOE: Drive continuous improvement through process optimisation using Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical methodologies, enhancing efficiency and reducing waste.
  • Quality & Capability Management: Take ownership of overall quality, process capability, and associated documentation, ensuring adherence to stringent standards.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Utilize your strong engineering principles and data-driven decisions to effectively troubleshoot process, equipment, and system challenges.
  • Training & Mentorship: Provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to Production Technicians, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Action: Conduct thorough root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Equivalent proven experience will also be considered.
  • Proven experience in injection moulding process engineering, including new tool debug, process optimisation, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining various injection moulding machine types and ancillary equipment.
  • Experience with root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Ability to work a shift based contract.
