Our client, a leader in the food production industry, is seeking to recruit a Maintenance Technician to join their team in Galway on a permanent contract.
Responsibilities:
Conduct routine maintenance tasks on production equipment, including but not limited to conveyor systems, packing machines, and processing equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimise downtime and ensure continuous production.
Perform scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance to identify potential problems before they escalate.
Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency situations to minimise production interruptions.
Recognise and conduct repairs on any structural or fabrication issues within a building.
Collaborate with the production team to address maintenance needs and prioritise repairs based on production schedules.
Document all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and parts usage.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organised work environment.
Provide training to production staff on the proper use and care of equipment.
Qualifications:
Certification in a relevant field.
Experience as a Maintenance Technician, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment.
Knowledge of PLCs, control systems, and automation is desirable.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Previous knowledge of CMMS is an advantage.
Flexibility to work non-traditional hours and weekends as needed.
