Maintenance Technician

Our client, a leader in the food production industry, is seeking to recruit a Maintenance Technician to join their team in Galway on a permanent contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks on production equipment, including but not limited to conveyor systems, packing machines, and processing equipment.

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimise downtime and ensure continuous production.

  • Perform scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance to identify potential problems before they escalate.

  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency situations to minimise production interruptions.

  • Recognise and conduct repairs on any structural or fabrication issues within a building.

  • Collaborate with the production team to address maintenance needs and prioritise repairs based on production schedules.

  • Document all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and parts usage.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organised work environment.

  • Provide training to production staff on the proper use and care of equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Certification in a relevant field.

  • Experience as a Maintenance Technician, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment.

  • Knowledge of PLCs, control systems, and automation is desirable.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Previous knowledge of CMMS is an advantage.

  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours and weekends as needed.
