Maintenance Technician

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a leading life sciences company based in Cork. This will be on a fixed-term contract (23 months) with great scope for permanency. This role will support the Biotools Manufacturing Operations team. You will play a key role in maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting production equipment to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Maintenance Technician will operate and maintain automated assembly machines, moulding machines, packaging, inspection, and testing equipment within a cleanroom environment.

  • Set up assembly machines to meet specified quality standards and complete required documentation.

  • The Maintenance Technician will perform preventive maintenance tasks per defined schedules and execute necessary repairs.

  • Ensure equipment is maintained to the highest standard and all repairs are properly inspected and approved.

  • The Maintenance Technician will troubleshoot equipment issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Promote safety initiatives and maintain an injury-free workplace.

  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, automation, and project engineering teams.

  • Utilize CMMS (SAP NEXT) for maintenance activity tracking and reporting.

  • Participate in operational excellence (OPEX) projects to enhance automation and efficiency.

  • Develop and implement efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement projects.

  • Manage critical spare parts inventory and calibration programs.

  • Train new technicians and production personnel.

Role Requirements:

  • Relevant Mechanical Trade or Engineering qualification.

  • 2-5 years experience in Medical Device or Pharma manufacturing environments is preferred.

  • Hands-on experience with automated production assembly machines.
