We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Manager to join a leading plastics manufacturing company based in West Limerick on a permanent basis. This role is key to the companies’ achievement of World Class Manufacturing. You will be responsible for providing an asset management service, including; optimal asset integrity and productivity, increased availability and reliability, reduced cost and risk, and improved profitability.
Key Areas of Responsibility (full job description available on request):
Systematic measurement of Manufacturing OEE and resourcing improvement projects with Departmental Managers.
Implementation of best practice maintenance into all Manufacturing areas, factory services and tool care area.
Auditing and reporting effectiveness of Manufacturing Asset Care.
People management including development and training.
Technical leadership – establishing engineering protocols and specifications for the site.
Manage capital projects. Identify suppliers and manage delivery of capital projects within agreed timeframes, cost and efficiency criteria.
Contractor selection, negotiation and performance monitoring.
Management of departmental budgets.
New tool design and introduction – close liaison with Central tool / product design team.
Maintenance of facility – buildings, roads, services etc.
Management of legislative compliance e.g. pressure vessel regulations, lifting equipment regulations, asbestos management, cooling tower maintenance.
Management of information systems – IQMS/PMDE.
Maintenance inventory management.
Effective Quality management systems
Management of change
Systems knowledge management
What does the ideal candidate look like:
Educated to engineering degree standard, likely to be a Charted/European Engineer.
Minimum of 3 years experience managing maintenance activity.
Formal Health and Safety Qualification advantageous
Established project management skill and track record
Knowledge of Engineering standards and best practices e.g. RCM, Six Sigma Green Belt.
HR skills and experience e.g. disciplinary, performance management processes.
Experience of training and coaching people.
IT literate to include MS Office.
Experience of using lean manufacturing techniques e.g. Value Stream Mapping
Extensive engineering design knowledge.
