We are seeking an experienced Freight Forwarding Team Manager to lead and oversee our clients team in delivering seamless logistics solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in freight forwarding, exceptional organizational and communication skills, and a proven ability to manage and motivate a team. This role involves both strategic planning and day-to-day operational oversight.
This role is based onsite in Carrigtwohill
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Management:
Manage and supervise a team of freight forwarders, logistics coordinators, and support staff.
Assign workloads, set priorities, and ensure deadlines are met.
Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and foster professional development within the team.
Freight Forwarding Operations:
Oversee all freight forwarding processes, including air, sea, and road shipments.
Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
Address and resolve escalations related to shipping, documentation, or customer concerns.
Client Relations:
Serve as the point of contact for key clients, providing updates on shipment status and addressing concerns.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships to ensure customer satisfaction.
Identify opportunities to enhance service offerings and grow client accounts.
Process Improvement & Strategy:
Analyze workflows and identify areas for process optimization.
Develop strategies to improve operational efficiency, cost savings, and overall performance.
Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 5+ years of experience in freight forwarding, with expertise in air, sea, and road freight.
Demonstrated experience managing and leading a team in a logistics environment.
Strong knowledge of freight management systems and tools.
Familiarity with customs procedures, Incoterms, and trade compliance requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and logistics software.
