Our Client is an industry-leading inertial systems company offering many industries quality, robust gyroscopes, and accelerometer solutions. It is Ireland’s largest space-related company and a global leader in inertial sensor technology. They are currently looking to hire an FPGA Engineer for their team in Dublin.

As an FPGA Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our FPGA team. The successful candidate must have extensive experience architecting and designing and a track record of successfully delivering FPGA-based systems.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop specifications and designs for FPGA blocks.
  • Create comprehensive design documentation, including FPGA requirements, specifications, design descriptions, and test specifications.
  • Conduct FPGA verification in a laboratory setting, including system integration and testing.
  • Provide support for existing FPGA design verification and board test activities.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to contribute to system architecture and design, actively participating in architecture and design reviews.
  • Write, simulate, and verify VHDL-based FPGA designs.
  • Offer support and review for schematic and PCB layout processes.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, and programming languages such as C/C++, for simulation/design environment development and analysis of laboratory test results.
  • Strong knowledge of the FPGA design flow, including verification, synthesis, partitioning, place & route, timing closure, and power estimation.
  • Understanding of interface protocols, memory technologies, and communication interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C).
  • Experience in electronic circuit and system design, covering analog, digital, and power domains.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems and processor architectures.
  • Skilled in using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and signal analyzers.
  • Experience with version control tools such as SVN and Git.
  • Preferred experience with VHDL and ECSS-Q-ST-60-02 standards for ASIC & FPGA development in space projects.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A collaborative team player.
  • Strong hardware/system debugging skills.
