Job Opportunity: Electronic Engineer

Our client, a global leader in inertial sensor technology, is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Engineer to join their innovative engineering team. Based in Dublin, Ireland, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to designing and developing world-class inertial sensor solutions. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Create schematics and PCB layouts for inertial systems such as gyroscopes, accelerometers, and IMUs.

  • Design and develop electronics for test and production equipment, from specification to validation.

  • Maintain and update existing electronics designs.

  • Perform verification, testing, and debugging using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design justifications, test procedures, and reports.

  • Collaborate closely with product, automation, mechanical, control, and manufacturing teams.

  • Work with suppliers and partners to ensure adherence to rigorous standards and requirements.

  • Provide technical support to customer queries.

  • Liaise with PCB, PCBA, and component suppliers to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering department.

Requirements:

  • Electronic Degree with experience in analog electronics design, particularly signal conditioning, microcontrollers, and data interfaces (e.g., RS-422, RS-485, CAN).

  • Expertise in mixed signal multilayer PCB layout.

  • Hardware testing experience, including design verification, debugging, and failure analysis to component level.

  • Proficiency in using lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and function generators.

  • Ability to create technical documentation, including schematics and design reports.

  • Familiarity with IPCX electronic standards.

  • Knowledge of SPICE model simulations.

  • Experience in power supply design (both linear and switched mode) and loop compensation.

  • Experience with sensors (especially inertial sensors) and embedded systems.

  • Proficiency in electronics design CAD software (Cadence OrCAD preferred) and FPGA-based design, with knowledge of EMC/EMI design best practices.
