We are partnering with a Galway multi-national medical device company who are looking for an experienced EHS Manager to lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance in a dynamic environment. Initially, this is an 18-month contract position but the role will offer a competitive salary and benefits package for the successful applicant.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact for regulatory agencies (HSA, Fire Service, OSHA).
- Ensure compliance with EH&S regulations (ISO 45001).
- Lead and develop a high-performance EH&S team.
- Inspire employees and contractors to follow EH&S best practices.
- Ensure facility projects meet Construction Regulations.
- Provide strategic direction to improve EH&S outcomes.
- Work with leadership to set site EH&S goals.
- Develop a plan for zero carbon emissions at the Galway site.
- Track and improve EH&S system effectiveness.
- Manage Occupational Health programs with HR.
- Oversee emergency response systems.
- Ensure safety in handling hazardous materials and electrical systems.
- Manage employee case litigation and settlements.
- Share resources and collaborate with EH&S teams across the organization.
Qualifications
- Education: Level 8 Honours Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or similar (10+ years’ experience).
- Certifications: CMIOSH or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years leading EH&S teams.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently.
