EHS Manager

We are partnering with a Galway multi-national medical device company who are looking for an experienced EHS Manager to lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance in a dynamic environment. Initially, this is an 18-month contract position but the role will offer a competitive salary and benefits package for the successful applicant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for regulatory agencies (HSA, Fire Service, OSHA).
  • Ensure compliance with EH&S regulations (ISO 45001).
  • Lead and develop a high-performance EH&S team.
  • Inspire employees and contractors to follow EH&S best practices.
  • Ensure facility projects meet Construction Regulations.
  • Provide strategic direction to improve EH&S outcomes.
  • Work with leadership to set site EH&S goals.
  • Develop a plan for zero carbon emissions at the Galway site.
  • Track and improve EH&S system effectiveness.
  • Manage Occupational Health programs with HR.
  • Oversee emergency response systems.
  • Ensure safety in handling hazardous materials and electrical systems.
  • Manage employee case litigation and settlements.
  • Share resources and collaborate with EH&S teams across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Education: Level 8 Honours Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or similar (10+ years’ experience).
  • Certifications: CMIOSH or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years leading EH&S teams.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
