Our client is a well-established and growing manufacturing company located in Offaly. They are looking to hire a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Accountant/Accounts Technician to join their dynamic finance team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive accounts experience, a solid understanding of cost accounting principles, and a background in the manufacturing industry ideally. This is an on-site role with excellent opportunities for professional growth and career advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Perform cost accounting tasks, including analysis of manufacturing costs, variances, and inventory valuation.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries, and perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Assist with financial audits and implement recommendations for process improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support operational decision-making.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and payroll entries.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounting role, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting and financial analysis.
- Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (e.g., Accounting Technician, ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
