Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join a well-established food manufacturing company based in Cavan. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of their financial operations and maintaining strong relationships with their vendors.

It is a full time permanent role, full time on site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, including verifying, coding, and processing invoices.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers, maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper documentation and approval processes.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end financial closing activities related to accounts payable.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounts payable function.
  • Utilize finance and IT systems to enhance reporting, analysis, and workflow efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years in an accounts payable or similar finance role, preferably within the manufacturing or FMCG sector.
  • Education: Diploma or degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong proficiency with finance and accounting software.
  • Solid understanding of financial principles and accounts payable processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and resolve discrepancies effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with IT systems and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Excel).
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
