Accounts Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and detail-orientated Accounts Assistant to join an indigenous organisation based on the South side of Cork City. This is a full-time, permanent role and will provide accounting and administrative support to senior accounting and finance staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Posting of daily Customer Cash Remittances.

  • Handling customer enquiries in relation to invoices and statement requests.

  • Reconciliation of customer accounts and related credit control.

  • Supplier account payments, account management and reconciliations.

  • Weekly/monthly bank reconciliations.

  • Petty cash transactions.

  • Accurate entry of financial data into accounting systems.

  • Process supplier payment requests (including foreign currency transactions).

  • Providing general administrative support to the Senior Accountant in the Finance Department.

  • Ad hoc financial analysis tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years experience in an accounts or similar role.

  • Proficiency in financial software including Excel.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with internal and external parties.

  • Excellent organisation and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
