Accountant | Practice - Sligo
Our client, a progressive and expanding accountancy practice based in Sligo, is seeking a client-focused Accountant with practice experience to join their ambitious team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in advising a diverse client base on all aspects of financial management, while contributing to the firm’s strategic growth and mentoring junior team members. Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management: Manage and nurture a portfolio of SME and corporate clients, acting as their trusted advisor across all financial and compliance matters. Deliver tailored, proactive advice to support their business goals and build long-term partnerships.
Financial Reporting & Compliance: Prepare and review annual financial statements and monthly management accounts to the highest standards. Oversee the timely submission of Corporation Tax, Income Tax, VAT, payroll, and Company Secretarial returns, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
Business Development & Strategic Input: Support the firm’s ambitious growth strategy by identifying new business opportunities, contributing to service development initiatives, and enhancing the firm’s market presence through excellent client service and networking.
Leadership & Staff Development: Lead by example in a collaborative team environment. Provide training, mentoring, and day-to-day support to junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional excellence.
Client Support & Advisory Services: Respond to ad hoc client queries efficiently and accurately, offering practical solutions across a range of financial and operational issues.
Requirements:
Fully qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
A minimum of 3 years’ post-qualified experience within a practice environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage and grow client relationships with professionalism and commercial insight.
Proven team leadership and mentoring experience, with a passion for developing others.
Strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Tech-savvy with strong proficiency in accounting software and business systems.
