HR professionals from across the Midlands attend annual employment law event in Athlone
Almost 100 business owners and HR professionals from local SME’s to large multinationals attended the much-anticipated CIPD Midlands Region Employment Law Event hosted by Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services Group.
The annual event, which was held today (Wednesday, January 22) at the Sheraton Hotel Athlone, is hosted each year for HR professionals and business owners to assist them in addressing employment law issues at work, from employment equality and terms and conditions through to termination of employment and employees’ rights, as well as information on new and amended regulations and rates.
Collins McNicholas was the main sponsor of the event in conjunction with The Midlands Region of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) programme for 2020. Speakers at the event included Josephine Gilroy, Vice-Chairperson of The CIPD Midlands Region, Mary Mullin, Associate Director for Collins McNicholas’ Midlands/Leinster office and keynote speaker Labour Law expert Alastair Purdy from Purdy & Co. Solicitors. It was attended by almost 100 people from business owners and managing directors to HR professionals, hiring managers and HR students who attended from Athlone Institute of Technology.
Speaking at the event, Mary Mullin commented that:
