We are currently supporting a multi national medical device company as they look to hire a Global Sourcing Technical Project Manager II on a permanent basis to join their team. This role can be based onsite in Galway, Cork or Clonmel and will offer a hybrid working model.
About this role:
The Technical Project Manager II will be responsible for the leadership of the Operations portion of new product development projects, site transfers, acquisition integrations and other complex manufacturing project initiatives. This role will be both a Project Manager as well as will have management responsible for other Global Sourcing Project Managers.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Lead teams, providing effective communication cross-functionally and provide technical guidance to cross-functional Core Team members and Core Team Leaders as applicable.
- Supervise other External Operations Project Managers
- Assemble the cross functional resources required to drive project completion.
- Identify, coordinate, and ensure completion all activities required to for an assigned project or task while confirming current policies and best practices.
- Prioritize projects and activities based on business need, timing, and financial risk.
- Ensure successful execution of projects using various tool kits, work instructions and best practices.
- Proactivity identifies issues that may affect quality, cost, or service levels and work with internal and/or external teams to resolve or address.
- Create project tracking plans, schedules, and risks for projects and communicate across the organization as applicable.
- Delegate and manage tasks among team members as appropriate to their skill level and risk to the project. Elevate issues and clear barriers to team progress to allow for project success.
- Resolve conflicts with team members and involve functional management as required to ensure timely project completion.
- Support APAC External Operations team, supporting regional projects and mentoring APAC based project managers.
- Make presentations to upper management and key stakeholders.
Requirements:
- 12+ years engineering experience (manufacturing, process development or related)
- Level 8 Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in engineering (240 credits)
- 5+ years technical project management experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- 2+ years experience working with external manufacturing partners.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time regional and international.
