Supply Chain Planner

Our client, a leading global healthcare company based in Sligo, is recruiting for a Supply Chain Planner on a 12 month contract.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Overall responsibility for meeting the production schedule, material requirements planning, purchase order management, inventory management and work order management to ensure customer’s requests are actioned within the time schedule requested in accordance with the company’s budget, policies and procedures.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

·Open/Maintain/Release Process orders.

·Batch Determine Process Order Components.

·Generate Lot Assignment sheets

·Generating purchase requisitions as necessary and ensuring the material is released within the agreed timescale.

·Changing/updating existing BOM to ensure accurate and timely customer requirements.

·Maintain accurate inventory transactions, Quantities and due dates.

·Prepare documentation for the disposal of all obsolete or rejected materials in accordance with the company policies and procedures.

·Monitor and Control inventories of Bulk suppliers W.I.P and finished products ensuring achievement of plant inventory level goals.

·Contingency Planning when have technical or supply issues.

·Execute to the production schedule by ensuring Process Orders are available, Batch Determinations are completed, material availability, technical issues are resolved. Minimize distressed inventory particularly lot ends.

·Generate and Maintain MLC’s.

·Create and maintain the ERP data in accordance with company policy and procedures.

·Complete all activities in a safer manner ensuring that any potential safety issues and areas for improvement are addressed.

·Ensure Environmental procedures eg recycling, waste minimization are adhered to and improvements made where possible.

·Approve Change requests for planning group as required

·Identify and participate in continuous improvement projects, process simplification, system enhancements and automation of activities (e.g. reports and plan exercise).

EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES:

·Appropriate qualification in either Purchasing/Productions Planning e.g. Diploma in Purchasing or relevant APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) examinations or General Degree with relevant Manufacturing experience, this will provide a basic understanding of the planning techniques for the role.

·At least two years experience in production planning in a manufacturing company. Preferably previous experience with planning short shelf life products. Overall experience required is 3 years. This experience will ensure that planning related issues are understood and dealt with in a well balanced and professional manner.

·A high level of expertise is required in solving scheduling, logistics, expediting and purchasing problems.
