Supply Chain Manager

The Job:

Based on site in Cavan, the Supply Chain Manager oversees all supply chain operations, including sourcing, purchasing, inventory management, and logistics. This role ensures that products and materials are procured at optimal cost, quality, and delivery timelines to meet company objectives. The manager collaborates with various departments to streamline processes and enhance supply chain efficiency while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers for long-term partnerships and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee and manage end-to-end supply chain processes, including demand planning, procurement, transportation, and inventory control.
  • Monitor and forecast inventory needs to prevent stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Collaborate with production, sales, and finance teams to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Optimize inventory levels to balance carrying costs with production requirements.
  • Implement inventory control processes and systems to track stock movement and manage obsolete items.
  • Prepare regular reports on key supply chain metrics such as cost savings, supplier performance, and inventory levels.
  • Utilize data analytics to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Set performance objectives for team members and evaluate performance regularly.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field. A master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or a related field, with 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Manufacturing environment essential.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess data and trends for decision-making.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills. Knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
