Senior Transportation Lead

About the Role:

As a Senior Transportation Lead with this Global Medical Device Healthcare company, you will play a crucial role in shaping and optimizing the logistics network. Your work will involve leading complex projects, utilizing data analytics, and ensuring that our logistics operations meet and exceed performance standards.


Work Location:

This is a Hybrid Eligible role, offering flexibility for remote work with travel requirements to:

  • Dublin HQ: Attendance required once every two weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Route Optimization: Lead strategies using data analytics and cost-benefit analysis to optimize logistics networks.

  • Project Leadership: Manage and coordinate cross-functional projects related to route optimization, working closely with teams in sourcing, operations, regulatory, quality, and legal.

  • Performance Management: Oversee EMEA service performance, utilizing root cause analysis and trending to enhance service levels.

  • Metrics Management: Own and manage service level metrics across various regions and transport modes, ensuring clear communication across internal teams.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and drive initiatives that improve service delivery and reduce costs, continually optimizing transportation networks.

  • Vendor Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with logistics partners, focusing on service level and cost optimization during monthly and quarterly reviews.

  • Strategic Planning: Develop transportation strategies that align with organizational goals and anticipate future needs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Ideally 10+ years of experience in high-volume Medical Device logistics at a senior level.

  • Proven track record in managing vendor relationships and ensuring high-quality logistics services.

  • Experience leading global projects with matrixed teams.

  • Expertise in data analytics for strategic and operational decision-making.

  • Strong background in budget management, including cost variance analysis and proactive budget adherence.
