We are currently partnering exclusively with an advanced Galway start up as they expand their R&D team with three new permanent hires. As part of this expansion, they are hiring an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to adopt a key design role in technology and product developments.
Responsibilities
Adopt lead mechanical design role in technology and product developments
Design and develop packaged endoscope systems considering factors such as material selection, thermal stresses and manufacturability
Generate design inputs and outputs such as engineering specifications, 3D CAD, drawings, bills of materials and manufacturing method
Create and execute prototypes, test methods and product verification
Lead communications with key customers, suppliers and cross-functional project teams to deliver differentiated solutions for the market.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years applicable experience
Experience in 3D modelling and simulation software including FEA and numerical simulation is essential.
NPI and experience transferring products from design to production is essential
Experience in CAD using surface modeling techniques is desirable
Experience in part design for injection molding is desirable
Medical device experience or another high-reliability industry is desirable
Competencies
Proficient in mechanical design and Microsoft Office software
Excellent organisation, teamwork and communication skills
Strong prototyping skills and use of basic hand tools and techniques
Strong problem-solving skills and motivation to learn
