R&D Engineer II – Medical Device Industry (Contract Role, Galway)

Are you an experienced R&D Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge medical device innovation? We are partnering with a leading global company in the medical technology sector, seeking a skilled R&D Engineer II to join their team in Galway on a contract basis. This role offers the chance to work on groundbreaking product development, collaborating with experts in the field to bring life-changing medical solutions to market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot medical devices throughout the research and product development lifecycle.
  • Conduct studies to investigate specific life science and engineering challenges related to product design and performance.
  • Support clinical trials and product validation processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
  • Translate research discoveries into marketable medical technologies that improve patient outcomes.
  • Work independently on moderately complex projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, recommending enhancements to existing systems and workflows.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers or colleagues within the R&D team.
  • Communicate project progress and technical findings to internal stakeholders, supporting informed decision-making.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Biomedical, Mechanical, or related field).
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in R&D, product development, or a related engineering role in the medical device industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in design verification, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with internal teams and stakeholders.

💰 Hourly Rate: €23–€26 per hour

📍 Location: Galway (Onsite)

📅 Contract Duration: 12 months
