We’re partnering with a leading international manufacturer specialising in food production line solutions. With over 40 years of success, this company has delivered cutting-edge processing equipment and after-sales service to clients across 60+ countries. Known for their technical innovation, strong growth, and global footprint, they are now expanding their sales support function and are looking to welcome a new Proposals Engineer to the team.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with a technical mindset who’s looking to develop their career in a commercially focused, customer-facing role within a thriving sector.

The Opportunity

As Proposals Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring customers receive optimised, technically sound solutions tailored to their processing needs. Working closely with the internal Sales and Engineering teams, you’ll help bring client visions to life through compelling proposals that combine technical expertise with commercial awareness.

You’ll be joining a business that values innovation, collaboration, and long-term career growth – all while working on projects for household-name food brands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver accurate, high-quality technical proposals within tight deadlines.
  • Ensure proposals adhere to internal quality and formatting standards.
  • Review the commercial and technical components of bids, ensuring clarity and full scope coverage.
  • Support the sales team with technical input and documentation throughout the proposal lifecycle.
  • Attend on-site client visits to support pre-sales and requirements gathering.
  • Follow internal processes for producing costings and proposals.
  • Promote best practices for proposal layout, content, and delivery.
  • Provide detailed handover documentation to project delivery teams when proposals are successful.

What You’ll Need

  • Ability to read and produce technical drawings using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
  • A background in Mechanical, Electrical, or Food Engineering (degree or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in a technical, proposals, or engineering support role (advantageous but not essential).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Comfortable working with technical specifications, numbers, and client data.
  • Confident communicator with strong written skills – capable of drafting clear, professional documentation.
  • A customer-focused mindset with a passion for collaboration and problem-solving.
  • Desire to learn, grow, and contribute in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

What’s On Offer

  • Join a well-established and globally respected company within the food processing space.
  • Be part of a supportive and innovative technical team.
  • Opportunities for career progression and ongoing training and development.
  • Varied projects with international clients and well-known brands.
  • A collaborative environment where your ideas and initiative will be welcomed.

Flexible and Inclusive Hiring Approach

Not sure you meet every single requirement? That’s okay. This client values potential and passion just as much as experience. If you have transferable skills or a unique perspective to bring to the role, we’d love to hear from you. Full training and support will be provided to help you succeed.
