Manufacturing Engineering Manager

We are in search of a motivated and results-driven individual to assume a leadership role with one of Ireland’s largest indigenous electronic companies. As a pivotal member of the management team, you will contribute significantly to the company's success. This role offers a distinctive opportunity for a Senior Manager in Manufacturing Services to enhance operational efficiency in our key manufacturing centers, crucial for final assembly operations.

Responsibilities involve coordinating and managing various manufacturing support and supply services such as molding operations, Surface Mount Assembly operations and overseeing facilities Operations to ensure continued effective management of efficiency, quality, cost, H&S and technological integration.

Overview of Main Responsibilities (full job description available on request):

  • Production Capacity Planning: Efficiently plan production capacity and workflows to achieve output targets, overseeing molding and Surface Mount Assembly operations daily through relevant managers and supervisors.

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide a Leadership role in the operational management of the Plant playing a key role in the delivery of the core Plant KPIs. Implement strategic initiatives in line with the company’s overall targets & objectives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus to the production team.

  • Quality Assurance: Implement and manage quality control processes to meet company and customer standards, monitoring production outputs for defects, PPM levels, and yields.

  • Cost Management: Manage production costs to ensure that the manufacturing processes remain within budget. This involves monitoring expenses related to labor, materials, and overhead costs.

  • Process Improvement: Continuous improvements of all key aspects of the manufacturing services support. Work on identifying areas for improvement in processes, equipment, and workflows to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.

  • Team Management and development: Managing and leading a team of technical staff is a significant part of the role. This includes hiring, training, and supervising staff, as well as fostering a positive work environment.

  • Health and Safety: Implement and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. Work closely with safety officers and compliance teams to ensure support services and plant facilities are working to the highest standards possible and providing employees with a safe and healthy working environment.

  • Sustainability: Provide a leadership role in managing and leading key sustainability initiative plant wide to ensure the company meets its net carbon neutral targets by 2030. Including compliance with ISO500001.

  • Technology Integration: Keeping abreast of technological advancements in manufacturing is essential. Implementing new technologies and automation to improve efficiency and reduce costs is a key element of this.

What the ideal candidate looks like:·

  • At least 7 years + manufacturing experience, preferably at a technical production management level, within a team-based manufacturing environment (Surface Mount Assembly background desirable but not essential)

  • Degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering or equivalent.

  • Competent in preparing business strategies and implementing action plans
