Project Engineer, Manufacturing

Excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer to join an innovative Electronics Manufacturing Company based in Galway. This role will report directly to the Engineering Manager and will mainly focus on product transfer and new product introduction projects as well as identifying and implementing continuous improvement projects at the site.  

Overview of your responsibilities (full job description available on request)

  • Drive Continuous Improvement by optimizing line balancing, layout, process flow, and material management using tools like 5 Whys, Kaizen, 6S, Six Sigma, and Value Stream Mapping.

  • Acquire deep technical knowledge of manufacturing processes to continually improve quality and efficiency through data analysis.

  • Contribute to €700K annual cost savings by identifying and leading improvement projects.

  • Lead production layout and line optimization during NPI in collaboration with Engineering and Production teams.

  • Manage Routings and SAP requirements for Engineering.

  • Oversee automation projects, including reports and Cap-Ex justifications.

  • Present results to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with leadership to develop strategic plans for Automation and Industry 4.0.

  • Optimize equipment and processes using data-driven decisions.

  • Supervise project plans, budgets, automation, and equipment installation.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required for the Role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline

  • +4 years manufacturing / project lead industry experience

  • Use of problem solving tools such as 8D, 5 Why and PFMEA.

  • SAP advanced user

  • Use of CI / Lean / Six Sigma / Opex principles in a manufacturing environment

  • Project Management expertise

  • NPI exposure
