Hygiene Manager Night Shift

A leading family-owned business with operations in Ireland and the UK is seeking a Night Hygiene Manager. Specializing in the production and marketing of premium meats, the company operates multiple manufacturing sites and supplies both branded and private label products to retailers across Ireland and the UK. The company employs over 700 people and is known for its high-quality standards and commitment to excellence in the food industry. Based in Co Kildare.


Job Purpose:

The Night Hygiene Manager will lead, manage, and develop the Hygiene team, ensuring a safe and hygienic work environment. The role involves continual improvement of hygiene practices, team development, and the implementation of safety measures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Development: Attract, retain, and develop team members. Ensure that the team is well-prepared for current and future challenges, fostering a culture of care, commitment, and trust.

  • Leadership: Develop strong leaders with effective delegation skills. Promote personal and team development, ensuring a robust succession plan is in place.

  • Operational Efficiency: Enhance the employee experience by improving processes. Work cross-functionally to communicate concerns and achieve optimal results.

  • Company Culture: Contribute to a positive work environment where employees feel valued. Provide open and honest communication, offer constructive feedback, and maintain professionalism.

  • Performance Management: Oversee and improve hygiene standards, safety compliance, water and chemical usage, quality, sustainability compliance, and staff attendance.

  • KPI Monitoring: Ensure specific KPI measures are met, including quality audit scores, adherence to cleaning schedules, and environmental targets.

Requirements:

  • Experience in managing hygiene standards and safety compliance ideally in a food production environment.

  • Team management experience.

  • Strong communication skills (internal, cross-functional, and external)

  • Ability to manage and improve KPIs related to quality, cost, and environmental impact
