Our client an established engineering consultancy company based in Ireland with a reputation for excellence have a new opening for an Environmental Director This position can be a Hybrid working option (2 days in office per week and off-site/remote working)In this positionyou will provide strategic guidance and management to ensure successful growth of an existing enthusiastic environmental team.
Their Environmental Director will have shareholding or profit-sharing options and be part of their senior leadership team and advisory Board. This role involves leadership, motivation, strategy, team building, managing, mentoring and business development. The Environmental Director will have significant experience in motivating and managing teams and project delivery in one or more of our key sectors:
Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) & Environmental Planning
Environmental Due Diligence & Land Contamination
EPA Licensing & Compliance
ESG & Sustainability
Drone Surveying
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and upskilling internal teams to achieve high performance. You will be part of the senior leadership team supported by the Managing Director in a role that includes:
Developing the growth strategy for the environmental team.
Managing, guiding and mentoring an enthusiastic team.
Improving the environmental performance for a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors.
Agree and manage monthly team budget, targets & performance.
Recruit and Retention of the environmental team.
Business Development & Bidding.
Manage Team Schedules, project delivery, and exceeded client expectations.
Direct, lead and deliver designated environmental projects
Expected Competencies
The required candidate must have the following knowledge and attributes:
A third level qualification (Degree/Masters) in environmental science or related discipline.
Respected within the Irish Environmental Industry such that our clients will be impressed and reassured by their presence.
Personable - build a strong rapport with our clients, peers & authorities on-site & on-phone.
Experience working in the Irish environmental consultancy sector (10+ years’ preferred).
Ability to lead, inspire, build, support & challenge a high performing environmental team with respect rather than fear/anger.
Commercial nous to see and deliver opportunities in the market and identify potential clients, team members & acquisition targets.
Ability to project manage multi-disciplinary teams and multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to deliver a project to a satisfied client that believes we exceed their expectations.
Significant network within the Irish Environmental Industry
Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
Highly motivated individual with strong attention to detail.
A full clean driving licence.
