Job Opportunity: Field-Based Calibration Technician

Our client, a market leader in supplying the Irish Polymer Industry for over 30 years, is currently seeking a Field-Based Calibration Technician to support client sites across Ireland.

This role involves installing, calibrating, maintaining, and servicing a range of injection moulding machines and ancillary equipment. Candidates with experience in electrical, mechatronic, or calibration engineering are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform calibration, installation, maintenance, and servicing of industrial machinery and associated equipment.
  • Specialize in machine calibration, accuracy verification, and system diagnostics for injection moulding and related equipment.
  • Carry out machine fit-outs, including electrical and mechanical modifications as required.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical faults on-site in collaboration with customers and manufacturers.
  • Conduct regular equipment health checks, generating detailed calibration reports and condition assessments.
  • Work closely with customers to ensure compliance with maintenance schedules and calibration requirements.
  • Coordinate with the scheduling team to efficiently plan site visits and ensure necessary resources are available.
  • Assist in specifying and procuring electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical components for maintenance and calibration purposes.
  • Maintain strict adherence to industry calibration standards and customer-specific safety protocols.

What You Need:

  • A Level 6 qualification (or higher) in Electrical, Mechatronic, or Calibration Engineering is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with a focus on machine calibration, servicing, or maintenance (minimum of 3 years preferred).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics.
  • Expertise in fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, and calibration procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation.
  • Solid understanding of industrial safety protocols and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with customers and colleagues at all levels.
