Job Opportunity: Field-Based Calibration Technician
Our client, a market leader in supplying the Irish Polymer Industry for over 30 years, is currently seeking a Field-Based Calibration Technician to support client sites across Ireland.
This role involves installing, calibrating, maintaining, and servicing a range of injection moulding machines and ancillary equipment. Candidates with experience in electrical, mechatronic, or calibration engineering are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform calibration, installation, maintenance, and servicing of industrial machinery and associated equipment.
- Specialize in machine calibration, accuracy verification, and system diagnostics for injection moulding and related equipment.
- Carry out machine fit-outs, including electrical and mechanical modifications as required.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical faults on-site in collaboration with customers and manufacturers.
- Conduct regular equipment health checks, generating detailed calibration reports and condition assessments.
- Work closely with customers to ensure compliance with maintenance schedules and calibration requirements.
- Coordinate with the scheduling team to efficiently plan site visits and ensure necessary resources are available.
- Assist in specifying and procuring electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical components for maintenance and calibration purposes.
- Maintain strict adherence to industry calibration standards and customer-specific safety protocols.
What You Need:
- A Level 6 qualification (or higher) in Electrical, Mechatronic, or Calibration Engineering is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with a focus on machine calibration, servicing, or maintenance (minimum of 3 years preferred).
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics.
- Expertise in fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, and calibration procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation.
- Solid understanding of industrial safety protocols and compliance standards.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with customers and colleagues at all levels.
