Senior Accountant - Practice

Senior Practice Accountant required for well established Chartered Accountants in Galway city, you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing a broad range of accounting and financial services. You will leverage your expertise in Accounting, Auditing, Insolvency, Tax, and Tax Compliance to deliver comprehensive solutions to our clients. Your role will also involve mentoring junior staff, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and enhancing the overall efficiency of our practice.

Hybrid - 3 days on site.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting:

  • Prepare, analyse, and present financial reports for clients.

  • Provide strategic financial advice to support business decision-making.

  • Develop budgeting and forecasting models to aid client financial planning.

Auditing:

  • Lead and manage audit engagements for a variety of clients.

  • Ensure compliance with auditing standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Identify and address areas of risk and provide recommendations for improvements.

Insolvency:

  • Manage insolvency cases including members voluntary liquidations, creditors voluntary liquidations and strike offs.

  • Liaise with creditors, debtors, and legal representatives.

  • Develop and implement strategies for asset recovery and distribution.

Tax and Tax Compliance:

  • Prepare and review tax returns for individuals and businesses.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.

  • Provide tax planning advice and identify opportunities for tax efficiency.

Client Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.

  • Address client queries and provide timely, accurate advice.

  • Conduct client meetings and presentations as needed.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.

  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CPA).

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a practice environment.

  • Extensive experience in Accounting, Auditing, Insolvency, Tax, and Tax Compliance.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
