Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for production excellence and continuous improvement? We’re seeking an experienced Production Operations Manager to take the helm of our Bakery, Mill, and Warehouse departments, driving innovation, quality, and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do:
Operational Performance
Motivate and lead the Production teams in a Continuous Improvement environment.
Work closely with all departments to deliver the weekly production plan in order to meet the needs of our customers.
Deliver agreed department KPIs and objectives including safety, quality, customer fill rate, weekly production quantities, line / dept. efficiencies and C.I. initiatives.
Manage resources and equipment effectively.
Monitor machine performance and lead performance improvements.
Identify equipment deficiencies and limitations, work with Maintenance to upgrade in line with business needs.
Ensure the Quality Department maintains high standards of product quality, adhering to all regulatory and company standards.
Uphold and enhance health and safety protocols, ensuring all processes meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
Provide comprehensive reports on operational performance to senior management, using data analysis to inform decision-making.
Manage People
Build relationships to enhance the capability of the whole team.
Encourage and develop others to contribute to their maximum capability to achieve results.
Promote a culture of empowerment.
Work closely with other departments, suppliers and customers to ensure cohesive and efficient operations.
Strategy/Innovation
Become a key driver of C.I. initiatives in your areas of responsibility.
Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company’s objectives.
Work with Procurement on sourcing and trialling alternative materials to take cost out of the business.
Work with Maintenance to identify and trial equipment to improve performance and reduce labour costs.
Support trials for New Product Introduction.
What We're Looking For:
3rd Level qualification in a related discipline is essential.
Relevant professional certifications in operations management, lean manufacturing, or quality management are desirable
10 years plus in a manufacturing environment with an emphasis on Lean/Continuous Improvement.
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in an operational leadership role, preferably in the food production or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) industry.
Proven track record of managing a multi-disciplinary team, including production, quality, and maintenance departments.
Experience in implementing continuous improvement initiatives and lean methodologies.
Familiarity with quality standards and health & safety regulations pertinent to the food industry, BRC & FSSC is desirable.
Capable of planning, executing and achieving the targeted outputs.
Proficient in budget management and financial analysis.
Knowledge of modern manufacturing technologies.
