Internal Auditor

My client, a well established, reputable manufacturing company based in Cavan is looking to hire an Internal Auditor to join their finance team.

This is a full time permanent role, offering hybrid working once the Internal Auditor is established in the role.

This role does require some travel so a full drivers license is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate existing procedures, identifying associated risks and control measures.

  • Execute planned internal audit assignments from start to finish.

  • Develop clear, high-quality reports with actionable recommendations, collaborating closely with management.

  • Manage and validate evidence provided by responsible parties to confirm completion of corrective actions.

  • Recognize issues and escalate significant concerns to the management team.

  • Offer guidance to management and serve as a change agent to enhance the organization’s practices, procedures, and controls.

  • Promote the development and maintenance of robust internal controls.

  • Acquire a strong understanding of the company strategic goals and the sector in which it operates.

  • Advise, coach, and facilitate training focused on internal control areas.

Requirements:

  • Background in accountancy, auditing, or compliance.

  • Prior experience in internal auditing is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of risk assessment and internal control principles.

  • Proficient in both written and verbal communication, able to convey clear instructions and guidelines.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Capable of reaching sound conclusions, especially in situations with uncertainty or ambiguity.

  • Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.

  • Works well in a team setting, fostering cooperation and collaboration.

  • Proactive, results-driven, and focused on completing tasks.

  • Valid, full driving license required.
