Finance Partner

Currently recruiting a Finance Partner within one of Ireland’s most reputable public institutions based in Dublin City Centre. It is a 12 month fixed term contract. This role will support stakeholders in all strategic financial planning activities. They offer flexible hybrid working options.

Job responsibilities of the Finance Partner (to include):

  • Provide the relevant management team with accurate and relevant financial information required for strategic and operational decision making, financial planning, resource allocation and financial risk management.
  • Prepare and present periodic (currently quarterly) analytical forecasts and analysis of complex financial data including trend and variance analysis to senior management.
  • Effective communication of financial matters to the relevant budget holders across the Division.
  • Provide financial support in the preparation, review and monitoring of budgets, explaining variances against budgets as they arise across the Division, assisting the relevant heads of unit in developing solutions to address deficits where relevant.
  • Review budgets and financial reports to ensure appropriate financial control, implementing processes and procedures to minimise financial risk.
  • Provide information required to support all aspects of financial forecasting/modelling, identification of new sources of income etc.
  • Assist in developing the financial and planning skills within the Division
  • An annual budget and income and expenditure forecast.
  • Monthly management reporting across the Division to facilitate local financial management.
  • Periodic (currently quarterly) forecasts against budget and actual reports including variance analysis on actual versus budget & forecast, identifying risks and potential over- and under-spends.

Knowledge & Experience of the Finance Partner:

  • Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in a similar scale and complexity organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both as part of a team and independently, with problem-solving skills.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years' post-qualification accountancy experience with substantial proven experience at management level in an organisation of similar scale.
  • Excellent skills in financial and quantitative analysis including proven experience in report writing, provision of reports and collation of data.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial modelling, planning, and forecasting.
  • Previous experience in budget management, review, and control in large organisations.
  • Substantial experience of financial planning, risk management and related reporting, project planning and associated financial oversight.

 

Qualifications:

Must be a fully Qualified accountant with 5 years PQE, with a membership of an accounting body recognised in Ireland.
