Our client, a global healthcare leader is currently recruiting for an EHS Specialist to join their team in Sligo.
Responsibilities:
As an EHS Specialist, you will:
Provide direction and support to the plant in meeting the requirements of the global EHS standards, applicable ISO standards, and other external regulations.
Support and continuously evaluate systems within the plant to ensure compliance with Local, National & EU legislation and the client’s Corporate and Division Procedures, Standards, and Policies for safety and the environment.
Support, maintain & where necessary develop an effective EHS management system.
Review and update EHSMS documents, including EHS Procedures, Register of Legislation, Safety Statement, and Risk Assessments.
Conduct training/awareness sessions related to the EHS System and risk assessments.
Conduct an EHS Assessment of all new chemicals and processes and ensure all items arising are effectively addressed.
Take a leading role in working with internal EHS committee meetings and ensure that areas for improvement or any EHS concerns are highlighted and acted on.
Oversee internal EHS audits and ensure all issues are effectively closed out.
Pro-actively encourage improvements to any aspects of EHS throughout the plant.
Support and continuously monitor the Site Emergency Response Plan to ensure it meets the requirements of changing processes.
Requirements:
A third level degree in Occupational, Safety & Health or in a related discipline.
3 - 5 years experience in a similar role.
