We are partnering with a multinational medical company to recruit a Data Analyst, Environmental Health & Safety to join their team in Galway.

Role Purpose:

The Data Analyst, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) will be responsible for providing data-driven insights and analytics to support the EHS team in achieving safety, compliance, and environmental sustainability goals. This role ensures compliance with applicable Corporate EHS Policies, Regulatory Standards, and Environmental Health & Safety Management Systems (EHSMS).

  • Prepare and distribute reports highlighting key trends in environmental, health, and safety performance metrics, enabling data-driven decision-making.
  • Utilise advanced analytical techniques, including AI/ML and statistical modeling, to identify risks, predict trends, and support EHS initiatives.
  • Provide actionable insights to improve safety processes, reduce environmental impact, and enhance compliance with EHS standards.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and generate reports to address EHS incidents, near misses, and operational inefficiencies.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards to monitor EHS KPIs such as incident rates, environmental impact measures, and regulatory compliance metrics.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of EHS data, collaborating with Operations to validate data inputs and outputs.
  • Design and implement data collection systems to enhance the efficiency of EHS reporting and analytics processes.
  • Identify and resolve data inconsistencies while improving overall data quality through ongoing monitoring and validation.
  • Support the development of predictive models to proactively identify high-risk scenarios and prevent EHS incidents.
  • Create visualization tools and communication materials to effectively present findings to stakeholders at all levels.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, and analytics using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Python, or R.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, or similar with a strong math/statistics component).
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and trend identification techniques.
  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is desirable.
