Our client is a well-established and growing manufacturing company located in Offaly. They are looking to hire a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Accountant/Accounts Technician to join their dynamic finance team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive accounts experience, a solid understanding of cost accounting principles, and a background in the manufacturing industry ideally. This is an on-site role with excellent opportunities for professional growth and career advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Perform cost accounting tasks, including analysis of manufacturing costs, variances, and inventory valuation.
Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
Reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries, and perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
Assist with financial audits and implement recommendations for process improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support operational decision-making.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and payroll entries.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department.
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounting role, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
Strong knowledge of cost accounting and financial analysis.
Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (e.g., Accounting Technician, ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
