Our Client, A Family-owned company, is one of Ireland's most progressive building companies with projects throughout Ireland and the UK. They are currently hiring a Quantity Surveyor for their projects based in Dublin. This role with sit on their commercial team allowing the successful candidate to operate on some of the largest corporate projects within the EU. This role also has a clear pathway to progression and this role is essentially a step towards Commercial Manager

The  Quantity Surveyor will have sufficient experience to develop the commercial agenda for a project and communicate that to the commercial team and also the wider project team.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the procurement of specialist trades for the project and make appointment recommendations in conjunction with the project director.

  • Lead the drafting of subcontract Agreements.

  • Manage the Commercial team in the receipt, assessment, and settlement of subcontract interim valuations and final accounts.

  • Set the communications agenda and ensure that your own commercial team develops and maintains strong working relationships with the wider project team.

  • Lead the project team's understanding of the client Agreement and be responsible for ensuring that the wider project team fully understands the contractual commitments that the company has made

  • Provide proactive advice to the project director on matters of contract.

  • Identify key risks and issues on the project and also a strategy to navigate any such items.

  • Be responsible for the submission of the project's final account to the client.

Job Requirements:

  • Third Level Degree in Quantity Surveying.

  • Minimum 2 Years Experience in a similar role.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with emphasis on ability to provide and explain reports accurately. 

  • A proven track record of concluding successful final account agreements with Subcontractors and Clients.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent time management skills

  • An elevated competence in the current forms of Agreements in the industry and an ability to fully understand the implications of amendments to such forms.
